Generally it is possible to upload GIFs in LOLYO - however, there is a file size limitation:
GIFs can be displayed correctly with a maximum size of 3 megabytes. If the GIF file is larger than 3 megabytes, only the image, without animation will be displayed.
If you want to insert a GIF in an RTE editor, e.g. on a normal content page, as shown here in the screenshot, please note the maximum size of 300 kilobytes:
